Election 2008

It is three weeks from election day. Thank God!!!!! I am so sick and tired of all the rhetoric. I am even sicker of Gov. Sarah Palin. Thanks Tina Fey for putting her in her place. I was so leaning towards McCain until I started listening to Palin. What a piece of work. That women is is so phony I can't believe McCain didn't see her coming. All I can say is if McCain wins and some how he dies while in office we are all in Big Trouble.
She has set such a negative tone to McCain's campaign that I am compelled to vote Obama!
My only concern is Obama loses and we wind up with the War hero and the hockey mom. What a sad thought. The only other thing that scares me more is that George Bush still has more than two months left as president, which means he could still do more to damage the country. Well even if McCain wins he will have to try very hard to be worse than Bush. He (Bush) has set the standard for being the worst President ever!!!!!!

In Memory of Jane

I lost my sister today. She passed from this earth this afternoon, the victim of acute leukemia.
Jane was a wondeful person who leaves behind her husband Bruce, two sons: Ben (20), Paul (19) and her teenage daughter Clare (14). Jane was just 55 years young. She had been under a doctor's care since March without ever being diagnosed with leukemia. Monday she was found unconcious and rushed to the hospital. She never regained conciousness.
I loved my sister very much and will miss her more than I can imagine.
She was a wonderful person. All giving with a heart too big for this world. She will be missed beyond comprehension. Jane was always full of life and put herself second behind all others. A wonderful mother and wife, a caring daughter and a great friend to all. She was a 21st century woman who always put her her needs second to others. All who new and loved her will miss her greatly.
I need to take pause right now. I will tell you all more later.

Wednesday's Woes

Not much to say today. I have felt better.

Watched former Pres. Clinton give his speech at the Dem Conv. He really is a good orator. He may be a bit promiscuous but he was a dam sight better president than little George Bush. Well, at least his time is coming to an end and whomever wins will have to work hard at being worse. Spoke with Bruce B. today. Maria is slowly getting better but I will not go see them this weekend as she is not up to having company.

Mom and Rob had a good day. Rob seemed much happier and I am glad. Mom was much better today too.

I am going to bed early in hopes I will feel better tomorrow than I do today so more later.

Monday's Wake!

Another Monday under the belt! Overslept this morning right through my alarm! Got to work about 1/2 hour late. Felt like taking the day off but couldn't. No one to cover for me. The morning went fast and I left about noon to shower and shave. Decided to work from home the rest of the day. Took a few calls and did a little computer work.

Today starts the Democratic Convention. Whoopee!!!!!! like I might watch it. American politics are so phony it's pathetic. We have to put up with the Dems for a week then the GOP convention. Holy crap!!!!! a week of McCain and his cronies after a week of Obama and his cronies. What did we do to deserve that kind of punishment. I thought there was something in the constitution that protected us from cruel and unusual punishment!

Well I hope the week goes well and quickly. My birthday is coming up on Labour Day and I want a nice quiet break.

Spoke to mom and Rob during the day but nothing tonight. I left a message on the machine as they did not answer. Hope Rob is OK. I worry about him a lot. He has so much on his shoulders right now. Give him a break God. Let some sunshine into his life! He deserves it.

Well I am going to call it a night as it is getting late and I need a good nights sleep.

Just aquick blog tonight.
Worked a few hours this morning and a couple this afternoon.
Mom was a little out of sorts today. She had difficulty remembering who I was etc. Rob had Adel come but apparently she has been a real bitch lately. She is clinically depressed and goes from highs to lows but according to Rob, she has been real moody the past few days. I told Rob to just confront her and ask her what the problem is. He doesn't do well with being direct but he has to with her as she is responsible for mom's care when he is not around. We will work things out.
I taped Moby Dick last night and am watching it now. Great movie so I am going back to it now.

Friday's Post

Well here we are on a Friday night. No big deal, I have to work tomorrow. Left the office early and worked from home a couple of hours. Fighting a summer cold that doesn't want to go away. I have a very boring life here in Yakima. Doesn't bother me too much as there isn't much to do any way, unless you want to drink and the bars aren't very exciting either.

I spoke with Mom and Rob earlier. they were well, considering. I'm surprised they didn't call back as they usually do in the evening. Guess they had dinner and called it an early night as Mom was up for a few hours last night and they got up early.

Wish I was back in NY though. I miss the beach. We spent a week at Fire Island (yesterday's post). I really would have enjoyed a few days there without the rest of the family. Next year we are going to do it without them. No offense to my family but It really wasn't a vacation cleaning up after them.

I am curious to see who Obama picked for his VP. It would be a hoot if it was Clinton. I really don't think he will win no matter who he picks. The freshness of his campaign has worn off and unfortunately I don't think this country is ready to elect a black man for President. I really feel that many of the Democrats that voted for him in the primaries are regretting not voting for Hillary. I personally don't care for Obama or McCain. They are both lousy and too connected to the Washington lobby to really be effective. Let's face it: until there is a serious political reform that eliminates the Washington lobby we as regular citizens will never be truly represented.

On another topic: They are going to institute smart cards at our facility next year which scares the hell out of me. I am totally against RFID (radio frequency identification cards) cards. I refuse to have a credit card with an RF chip and I will fight against the implementation of these cards at work and for Driver's license, credit card etc. I will not purchase anything with an embedded RF chip.

There is a great article in the September Scientific American about RF chips and the invasion of privacy they represent. Every American, better yet, world citizen should make themselves aware of what kind of future these chips represent. George Orwell may have had the year wrong but Big Brother is here and growing around the world. If you cherish you freedom and privacy you had better educate yourself and you better do it soon. If not, sooner rather than later our every movement will be tracked.

Three month's since my last post.
Katie's wedding was great! She was a beautiful bride, the weather was hot but great. The Barone's and Virgona's all got alon adn Kevin behaved very well.
I took a couple of extra days off to help them et ready. No rooms available so the Coleman's let me use their pop-up camper at the golfcourse campground. Nice camper but it was hot!!!!!
It was nice seeing John, Tina and victoria. I walked with Bruce's Mom at the wedding. She is doing very well but broke down a few times.
I went to NY for the first two weeks of August. We spent a week at Fire Island. Rob and I split the rent. Maggies kids came for four days and Dave, Awilda, Jo and Liz came for four days. Too many people. Next time we do it just ouselves. They all had a great time but I wound up cleaning up after Maggie's kids as they are real slobs. Hell they are 21 and 23 but you wouldn't know it as they are very irresponsible when it comes to taking care of themselves. My sister has pampered them and still does. When and if they go out on their own it will be a real shock. I love them dearly but grow up! You are slobs!
I'm not going to elaborate on work as it is the same. My supervisor is crap

(nice guy but lousy supervisor) and the big boss is crap too. Don't care, just want to get paid until something else comes along (hopefully). Until then it is a job and it could be worse.
As for the political scene. I am totally disgusted with all of them. Obama, McCain who cares. they are all crap and they couldn't care less about you or me.
